good robot vacuum are ideal for those who don't want to get your hands messy. They can save time and effort in comparison to manual cleaning and are ideal for single-storey homes or flats.
Smart features are a plus. They include mapping technology that can remember your home's layout, and staying clear of furniture and rugs, and getting into those nipples beneath furniture that bigger robots struggle with.
iRobot Roomba j7+
The iRobot Roomba J7+, an upgrade over the previous model by the company, incorporates new technology that makes it more efficient in avoiding pet waste. It makes use of smart mapping to create maps of floors and rooms and works hard to avoid obstacles like furniture, charging cables, and shoes. It also detects dirt, and prioritise cleaning areas that are heavily filthy. This is a significant improvement over previous models that may not notice dirty spots or only clean them for a short period of time.
The robot vacuum is fitted with a self-emptying base which can deposit dustbin debris into its own 2.4L dirt bag. iRobot's claims this can hold up to 60 days of trash, which means you only have to empty and change the bag every three months. The base station also has a spare bag that can be used for quick replacements.
The Roomba is simple to set up and use. It is compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, and can be controlled through the iRobot Genius App. Using the app, you can select to start and stop cleaning, determine the duration it should be able to spend on each task and set up a schedule.
In our tests during our tests, the iRobot Roomba J7+ was capable of cleaning hardwood and area rug surfaces without issue in the foyer, kitchen, and the family room. It was quiet and listened to us while it did its job. good robot vacuum measured only 64 decibels in operation. It took about 90 minutes to complete one cleaning, and its battery required one hour and 58 minutes to recharge afterward. The Combo J7 lets you increase the size of your iRobot eco-system by combining it with the iRobot Mop M6. One can run while the other flits around the room.
Dyson 360 Viz Nav

The Dyson 360 Viz Nav is the ideal robot vacuum cleaner for anyone living in a multi-floor house. The model can create maps for different floors and save them into the app. It's then simple to move between spaces without having to repeat the setup process. The robot can also be controlled via voice, and can be controlled by Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Dyson has developed a unique approach to obstacle detection than most other robots, employing sensors and cameras. A panoramic camera mounted on the top of the robot, along with 26 external sensors, help to create a map of the space as it moves. This helps the robot to avoid furniture and obstacles.
In our tests, we found that the Dyson 360 Vis Nav could reach up to baseboards as well as edges, and could navigate through furniture with tight corners. The robot's suction was strong, and it was able to capture every speck of dust hair, strand of hair, and dried-out piece of Playdoh that we threw at it. The vacuum also pulled the bin away easily and quickly, reducing clean-up time by half.
However, the Dyson 360 Viz Nav didn't do as well as other robots in our obstacle-avoidance test. It had trouble avoiding the drying rack that was temporarily in place that it was unable to move under. It eventually became stuck and halted the cleaning process. It also had difficulty navigating some of the larger pieces of furniture, like a chair or coffee table. The Dyson 360 Vis Nav also isn't able to climb stairs, which is a problem for a lot of people who live in multi-story homes.
Roborock
Roborock robotic vacuum cleaners have top-of-the-line cleaning features that are a cut above the others. Two mops are provided that spin and lift stains while pressing down. They also lift automatically when vacuuming carpets, stopping dirty streaks from appearing and re-clogging vacuums with dirt. They can suction up to 5,500 Pa which is superior in the removal of dirt and dust. They also have sophisticated water flow controls to ensure the proper amount of moisture is absorbed by every floor type.
Roborock's ability of mapping your entire home using laser technology is among its most impressive features. The LiDAR system of Roborock is a Roborock robotic arm rotates constantly emitting lasers and determining the time it takes for to bounce off of other objects. This data is then used to create an accurate map of your home's layout that allows it to navigate with a high degree of accuracy and avoid obstacles.
Depending on which model you select You can alter the map to include furniture placements, no-go zones and a specific room's cleaning. You can also pick a cleaning routine for vacuum only, mop alone, or vacuum+mop. You can schedule regular cleanings using an app-based system for cleaning that lets you set it and forget.
Roborock provides a range of options, ranging from the budget-friendly S6 MaxV to the premium S7 MaxV. All models have advanced mapping and a long-lasting battery and a huge dustbin. The docking station comes with a variety of functions, such as charging and refilling the hot water tank. Additionally, they have a two-year warranty in the UK.
Beko RCV 5
The Beko RCV 5 is a relative newcomer to the robotic vacuum and mopping market however, it's already making waves due to its sleek design and decent cost. The robot has a few tricks to distinguish it from other robotic vacuums, such as object recognition and self emptying functionality. It's also a breeze to install and use, thanks to an easy app that allows you to alter the settings to your liking.
The navigation system in this model uses a combination mapping and sensors to help you navigate your home. It does a great job of getting around obstacles. The app allows you to modify the cleaning route to allow certain areas to be cleaned more frequently. The app is a bit difficult to use initially but once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to schedule cleanings and manage your robot's power levels with ease.
Despite its impressive array of features, the RCV 5 is not without its flaws. It is a tiny water tank, which can only hold 240 ml at a given time. This is enough for a basic wipe-clean however, it isn't ideal for more staining that is difficult to remove. Additionally, the wiping plate is rather simplistic and doesn't feature an ability to rotate or vibrate.
Finally, the battery life isn't as long as one might expect for a robot that's priced at this level. The battery of the RCV 5 only lasts for about a third of a cleaning cycle. This isn't a major issue however it is something to be considered when you are looking for a new robotic vacuum cleaner.
Karcher RCV 5
The German manufacturer Karcher is best known for its pressure washers. However, it's entered the market of robot vacuums with a model that both vacuums and mops. The RCV 5 has a range of remarkable features including a superior obstacle detection, with a dual laser system, and mapping that is monitor in real-time using the smart app.
It also detects carpeted surfaces, and automatically activates wet mopping mode. The spot cleaning feature is extremely useful. It can be programmed to repeat every week. The RCV 5 is a great robot cleaner that has suction capacity of 2,500 pascals. It is able to clean hard and soft flooring and can get into tight corners and underneath furniture with low levels.
Like many modern robots, the RCV 5 has a smartphone-powered app known as Karcher Home Robots. It can be used to begin cleaning processes and create and manage maps of your home. The RCV 5 can also create virtual walls and zones that it cannot drive.
The RCV 5 has a downside in that its dust container is just a litre and it'll require regular emptying. This is different from other models that have integrated disposal technology into their docking station. It's also a bit heavier than other devices that make it less mobile and requiring more space to place in its charging station. The RCV 5 was highly rated by the testers for its ease of use and app control. It did well in our tests, although some users struggled to get the voice tech to work properly and found its docking station fiddly to set in a flat position.
